Dear Friends,
Welcome and thank you for visiting the official
website of American Telugu Association (ATA). As you might be aware, ATA is
a non profit organization established in 1990 to serve the people of Telugu
origin. Corporate headquarters is located in Naperville, Illinois, USA.
Currently we have 28 board members, 22 Committee chairs, 18 Regional
coordinators, 2 overseas coordinators and 1 International coordinator to
lead this organization.
To meet the objectives and purposes of ATA, in the
name of ATA Vedukalu, several programs were organized is the State of Andhra
Pradesh during December 2005: on December 21st in Tirupati, 24-25th in
Hyderabad, 27th in Warangal and on 28th in Kundaram Village (near Janagam);
several programs to benefit the Telugu Community were organized with the
help of volunteers from USA and from India. My sincere thanks to all the
organizers.
At least 40 representatives of ATA from USA have
participated in various events. Of noteworthy is that several children from
USA who came to India exhibited their talents in various cultural programs.
My thanks to all the children and their parents for their support.
We are continuing the 3 community service projects
started last year : Vidya Danam, Fluorosis Prevention, and HIV/AIDS
education in High schools and colleges. Under Vidya Danam Programs, several
scholarships were awarded to the needy high school students in different
parts of Andhra Pradesh during December 2005.
9th ATA Conference and Youth Convention shall take
place on June 30, July 1-2, 2006 in Long Beach Convention Center, Los
Angeles, California. Preparations for a successful event are under progress
and several volunteers are working hard to make this a memorable event and a
milestone in the history of ATA. Please plan to attend this conference along
with your “family, friends and relatives” and enjoy our hospitality. You
