ATA 2006 is inviting all enthusiastic and talented people, of all ages and from every state, to participate in what we hope will be a truly memorable and exceptional convention. We are looking for eclectic ideas and high energy to help make this a convention full of variety, verve and grace. We are looking for fresh faces as well as seasoned veterans with new ideas. We welcome your participation in this fun-filled gala.

The American Telugu Association invites participation from Telugu artists (professional and amateur) for the 9th ATA conference. Groups and individuals can apply to perform as a part of the main conference program or compete in one of our many competitions. The emphasis in this program will be to reflect Telugu culture and heritage.
Items should be creative and reflect Telugu culture. The list of items includes, but is not limited to:
Folk Songs
Folk Dances
Parody
Karaoke
Classical Dances
Classical Songs
Mimicry
Drama
Dance Drama
Skits
To make this event successful we want to ensure that all participants are aware of the following rules and regulations.
Solo
items will be considered for competition only.
Time
duration for each item is 5 to 20 minutes. Dramas /
plays will be limited to 30 minutes in length.
Completed
entry forms should be postmarked by March 30th,
2006.
Each
item should be submitted on DVDs
in its entirety before April 10th, 2006.Those who would like their DVDs
returned should include a self-addressed envelope
with sufficient postage.ATA or the organizing committee is not liable
for lost DVDs
or misplaced communications.
The
DVD
must contain the program in its entirety and be of
high quality to enable the audition committee to
review the program effectively. DVDs
of poor quality will not be reviewed.
An
Audition Committee will review all items for
quality, presentation, and appropriateness.
Decisions
of the Cultural Committee will be communicated to
item organizers by April 30th All
decisions by the Cultural Committee are final.
The
organizer for the selected item (s) should submit
their production requirements to the Cultural
Committee by May 10th,2006.Item
organizers are required to bring their own costumes
and props.
The
Production Team will provide the production details
to the organizer by June 15th,2006.
ATA
requires all participants and organizers to register
for the convention.Participants are expected to pre-register by
the first early registration deadline to facilitate
planning
